Deliver Innovation to Sprint
Welcome to the Sprint ATL Research web site. The goal of our
group is to “Deliver innovation to Sprint”, which means that:
- Within the Sprint strategic directions
- We advance the state of the art
- And deliver those research advances to Sprint or
license them to outside vendors
The group is pursuing ambitious, long-term and applied research
aimed at achieving advances in the areas of mobile and wireless
networking, wired and wireless security, and
network performance monitoring and analysis. We work in
partnership with various
groups inside Sprint (R&D, network planning, network
engineering, operations, RF, strategy.…), and those partnerships
provide us with good research problems, good feedback on our
work, as well as unique capabilities such as the ability to
collect and analyze huge amounts of traffic data.
Our group collaborates with and funds a number of research
efforts in CS and EE departments in the US, Canada, Europe,
and Australia. We are always looking for bright, energetic
interns and visiting professors interested in spending time at
the lab and starting, or strengthening, a collaborative research
effort with us.
We are also active in the standards and academic communities,
and are frequent reviewers or program committee members in
the top journals and conferences in our fields of interest
(ACM Sigcomm, ACM Mobicom and Mobisys, Internet Measurement
Conference, IEEE Infocom, National Science Foundation,…).
Finally, we organize the “Sprint Research Seminar Series”
and have frequent visitors from academia and other research
laboratories.
Refer to our group web site for details about our research
work, our results and publications, our seminars, and our
current openings.
